Scivation Quake 10.0 Review

Quake 10.0 Review

Scivation is most well known for their Xtend BCAAs, but now, they are making a pretty powerful pre workout too – Quake 10.0. This pre workout is a powerhouse, loaded with huge doses of Citrulline Malate, BCAA, and more. Here, we’re going to share with you our experiences while taking Quake 10.0 as well as what we think about it overall.

So, how does Quake 10.0 Perform in the Gym?

When lifting, the biggest benefits that we noticed was muscular endurance increases. The time between sets, and for general oxygen uptake were decreased significantly, and we were able to spend way more time in the gym!

Now, this isn’t like a creatine-type power increase and reduction in rest time… Rather, it’s more of a freshness feel, then straight power replenishment.

The BCAAs and Peak O2 mix in Quake 10.0 makes this an awesome pre workout if you like to finish your workouts with intense cardio, as the caffeine wears off.

Overall, Quake 10.0 was pretty awesome. This pre workout ranks epic high on our best pre workouts without creatine (update releasing soon).

Review of Quake 10.0 Ingredients

L-Citrulline 6 grams

Scivation includes 6 grams of L-Citrulline in their Quake 10.0 pre workout formula. This is a hefty dose of L-Citrulline, and not to be confused with the typical 6 grams of L-Citrulline Malate (combination of citrulline and malic acid).

This large dose of pure L-Citrulline is guaranteed to get your blood pumping, with that L-citrulline quickly becoming L-arginine in the body and nitric oxide soon after!

Xtend BCAAs 7 grams

The staple point of Quake 10.0 is the presence of 7 grams of Xtend BCAAs. This is also most likely the reason why Quake is such an expensive pre workout. For all of you who didn’t know, 7 grams of BCAAs is the clinical dosage.

Therefore, Quake 10.0 has enough BCAAs to not only boost your endurance, but also improve recovery and lean muscle growth!

L-Tyrosine 3 grams

L-Tyrosine is commonly used before workout as both a mild stimulant, and an anti-stressor. This improves both energy and endurance. In addition, L-tyrosine is also often used alongside l-dopa containing compounds. However, Quake 10.0 does not contain any actual L-dopa ingredients.

Peak O2 Blend 2 grams

Two grams of Peak 02 is another reason why in Quake 10.0 you’re paying a high price for 10 servings! Peak 02 is a blend of mushrooms which has been developed specifically to improve endurance. This Peak 02 blend combined with the huge 7 gram serving of Xtend BCAAs is a runners dream come true (for the stim-free Quake 10.0 version that is).

The Peak O2 Blend contains a mixture of: Cordyceps, Reishi, King Trumpet, Shiitake, Lions Mane, and Turkey Tail.

Arginine Nitrate 1.5 grams

Arginine Nitrate stimulates nitric oxide production via two pathways. First, the arginine component stimulates NO traditionally via nitric oxide synthase. Next, the nitrate component stimulates NO production via the nitrate to nitric oxide pathway. This is sometimes referred to as ‘back door nitric oxide stimulation’. It is worth noting, that this back door NO stimulation takes longer, normally 90 minutes to kick in.

So, when you take Quake 10.0 pre workout, you’re going to get a quick pump of NO from the arginine and citrulline, followed by a later intensification via the nitrate group.

L-Carnitine L-Tartrate 1.5 grams

LCLT (L-carnitine L-tartrate) is believed to reduce muscle damage and thus improve recovery time as well as anabolic response. There isn’t a whole ton of research around LCLT, but from what we’ve seen, it may be beneficial. Its exact purpose in the Quake 10.0 formula isn’t fully apparent to us.

Capros Indian gooseberry 1 gram

Capros is the patented form of Indian Gooseberry also known as Amla (or Phyllanthus emblica). It is considered to be a super anti-oxidant and may be beneficial for everything from insulin sensitivity to cardiovascular health. You can view all of the recent Indian Gooseberry studies via this link. http://sciencebehindayurveda.com/amla.html

Caffeine Anhydrous 350 mg

Caffeine Anhydrous is the stample point of all pre workout supplements (with the exception of stim-free versions). The full two-scoop serving of Quake 10.0 contains 350 mg of caffeine, which is on the high side. However, for a lot of you stimulant junkies, that’s exactly what you want… For you pre workout noobies, this may be too much caffeine. In which case, you are limited to taking one scoop at a time.

L-Theanine 200 mg

L-Theaine is an awesome compound found in green tea that acts as both a stimulant and relaxant, which is best used to modulate caffeine and control its energy. This is a necessity for all pre workout supplements.

AstraGin 50 mg

AstraGin is a patented combination of Panax notoginseng and Astragalus intended to increase nutrient uptake much like bioperine.

Conclusion on Quake 10.0 Pre Workout

As a whole, Quake 10.0 is a pre workout that is loaded with serious high quality ingredients, in their proper dosages. Just think of what other pre workouts you’ve seen with 7 grams of BCAA and 2 grams of Peak O2?

Despite this awesome profile though, we believe that the stimulant matrix is a bit simple, and that the price is a killer. ($40 or 10 servings).

However, this is an industry game changer and we are glad that Scivation is making big steps towards the future of sports supplementation. For that, we truly appreciate Quake 10.0, even if it isn’t taking home the crown of best overall pre workout like BULK.
